The Area

The Vistas of Westfield offers the best of both worlds: a little bit of the country…right next to town. Downtown Asheville, a favorite destination for anyone who loves the arts, good food and boutique and antique shopping, is only minutes away.

Interstate 40 is less than 3 ½ miles from your front door, both I-40 and I-26 (6 miles away), provides access to most of the Mid-Atlantic States, as well as the Middle and Deep South. I-26 also provides direct route to the South Carolina coast, only a few hours away.

Asheville Regional Airport is 20 minutes away and offers daily flights to many eastern and mid-western hub cities.

The area is abundant with activities. Whether you love the outdoors shopping or the many festivals and craft fairs offered in the region, there are offers several opportunities, no matter what your tastes are.

Outdoors

Located just east of the Great Smokey Mountains, the region is well known for hiking, camping, fishing and many, many other outdoor activities. The Asheville area was voted the best city in the U.S. for outdoor adventure in 2007 by Outdoor Magazine.

Shopping & Dining

Asheville and the quaint surrounding towns offer many unique shops, boutiques, and world famous cuisine. The Biltmore Square Mall is located about 4 miles from the Vistas of Westfield, and the larger Asheville Mall about 12 miles.

Culture

Visited by over a million people a year, the Biltmore House (America’s largest residence) is a quick 15 minute drive away. Complete with gardens, restaurant, special home tours and even a winery, The Biltmore and adjacent grounds offer hours and even days of entertainment. \

The arts are abundant as well, be sure to check out the Asheville Symphony and the Asheville Community Theatre, both located in downtown Asheville.

Events

The area is rich with events; festivals, live music, craft festivals just to name a few. Some of the larger local events:

Bele Chere is the largest free street festival in the Southeast. Music on twelve stages, Arts, Crafts, food and fun the last weekend of July.

LEAF (Lake Eden Arts Festival) is a spirited celebration of regional and world folk arts. Includes music, dancing, concerts, handcrafts and healing arts.

Shindig on the Green Gather on Saturday nights during July and August for bluegrass on stage and in informal jam sessions under the trees in downtown Asheville. A genuine glimpse into the traditions of Appalachia.

Mountain Dance and Folk Festival Since 1928, mountain fiddlers, banjo pickers, dulcimer sweepers, dancers, balladeers and others join together on the first weekend in August in downtown Asheville.
